Welcome to Resources for Ms. Oshinski's Environmental Issues & News Project

Use the following resources to help you find information for your research and presentation.

Use the Cook Library password - 21122002134515 - to get access to these databases.
  • Student Resource Center - Use the reference tab articles for background information. To get news, use the magazine or news tabs.
  • America's News - Remember way back in the fall when you searched for news articles? Here's a database that allows you to search newspapers from the U.S. and the world.
  • World Book Reference Center - Encyclopedia content. In the right frame, there are links for reviewed websites and magazine articles.
  • New Book of Popular Science - An encyclopedia dedicated to science.

  • Check Destiny (Highland's library catalog) for books. There is a cart of materials pulled as well (if the book says it is checked out, it is probably on the cart!)
  • Gale Virtual Reference Library - a collection of online books. You'll need the Cook Library password for access.

Try SweetSearch - search engine for students with human-picked resources.
If you use Google (or another search engine), be sure to carefully check the SOURCE of your information.

Cite Your Sources

Use your EasyBib account to generate your citations. Remember, YOU need to tweak the autocite to make it correct.
In your final works cited list, all your sources should be listed ALPHABETICALLY by first piece of information.
