Citing Your Sources
Citing Your Book
Go to the
Learning Center Catalog
Look up your book
Click on Add to My List
Choose Resources Lists on the left
Click on My Lists
Scroll down to the bottom of the page. It should read Citation List. Click Go
This creates a citation of your book for your. Copy and paste this on your google doc worksheet.
Citing Your Article
If you get your article from the database, Biography in Context, scroll down to the bottom of the page.
The citation is there for you. You do not need to copy the complete URL.
Copy the citation and paste this on your google doc worksheet.
For your video, if you use an image that you did not create you need to cite the source!
You may use EasyBib.
On your chromebook, go to your Google Drive --> click on the apps --> go to more to get to EasyBib
Create a new project and give it a name
We use MLA style at Highland (that's the default)
Paste in the URL of the picture
Under Source Type, choose Digital Image
Fill in all the information you can find about the picture.
Click on Create Citation.
Once you have ALL your citations done, you can export to Google Docs. Then add the citations for the book and article to the list. *Remember the list is in alphabetical order, so you have to add it in the right spot!*
Your Works Cited is ready to turn in to your teacher.
